If you have ever considered opportunities in China, Sister City delegations offer an economical way to explore opportunities for partnership. May 8 – 16, Sister Cities of Nashville (SCN) will be hosting a trip to Taiyuan and Chengdu, China for an estimated $3,340.00, including flights, visa, hotel, meals and a native Chinese speaker who will accompany the group throughout the trip.
The trip will begin in Chengdu in western China where you will participate in the opening ceremony of the 2017 China Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair. You will tour the Thinkzone National Incubator, the Giant Panda Research Base and attend the Chengdu International Sister Cities Innovation Forum. Opportunities in Chengdu include music – Chengdu wants to be the Music City of China, automotive manufacturing, higher education, medical care and tourism. During the trip, Nashville will also explore possibilities for a potential Sister City partnership with Chengdu.
You will then fly to Taiyuan in northern China for meetings with Foreign Affairs officers to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the Sister City relationship, tour Shanxi Museum and visit the Taiyuan Economic and Technical Development Zone. Company site visits can also be arranged according to sector interests of delegation members. The industry sector interests identified by Taiyuan officials include senior living facilities, advanced manufacturing equipment, clean energy (from coal to chemicals), and environmental protection (dealing with waste from coal and aluminum).
At the end of the trip, you can choose to extend your stay in neighboring Beijing or return to Nashville.
The trip registration deadline is Friday, March 3. If you are interested in participating in the trip, please contact SCN Executive Director Heather Cunningham at email@example.com.
