Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) offers students, educators, businesspeople, media, and professionals of all types an inside look into modern manufacturing. With an aim to support manufacturers, improve the public perception of manufacturing, and inspire the next generation of skilled workers, MFG Day draws attention to the social and economic significance of manufacturing all over the country.
Manufacturers can join in by holding their own MFG Day events at their facilities, for example by welcoming students, teachers, and/or the general public to tour their factory; hosting a career fair; and/or talking about the importance modern manufacturing to the US economy. While official MFG Day is Friday, October 6, 2017, event hosts can plan their own MFG Day event for any day in October. Visit the MFG Day webpage for more information.
Educators can get in involved in MFG Day as well, by helping students and parents prepare for the future and understand the career opportunities available in today’s manufacturing industry. For a teacher’s guide and to search for events in your area, visit the MFG Day Resources page for educators.
